Santa Fe is full of delicious food! Everywhere you look there is an outstanding restaurant, representing food from all over the world. But look a little deeper and you will find that Santa Fe also has a multitude of grocery stores, both national and local, that offer fresh and nutritious alternatives to eating out. Just in the larger downtown area alone there four well known large organic food store options: Whole Foods, Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, and relative newcomer Natural Foods.
In addition to that we also have smaller, locally owned options such Kaune’s, and Market Street.
For those who prefer locally grown produce, well we have that too! There’s the longstanding local Co-op, La Montanita, Squash Blossom, and a very well established Farmer’s Market that operates every weekend. Considering our downtown area is actually quite small, that’s practically a healthy food store option on every corner!
And it’s not just limited to downtown: the neighborhoods to the south are expanding and embracing healthy and local options also! There’s another Sprouts, local company Just the Best Produce, and if you want to recreate that amazing Mexican meal you ate at a Santa Fe restaurant, don’t miss El Paisano!
In addition to these there are numerous specialty shops selling everything from local raw honey to scrumptious tamales – so be on the lookout for a future edition dedicated just to these local treasures!
